Cantinflas’ wife was Valentina Ivanova Subarev. She was born on October 27, 1915. Her parents, Ivan Zubarev and Anita Ivanoff were Russians. They fled from Russia to Mexico in 1919 during the Russian Civil War.
In Mexico, they started a traveling theater company known as Carpa Valentina. Valentina became a dancer alongside her mother and her two sisters, Olga and Tamara.
Valentina met Cantinflas in 1936 at Carpa Valentina and they got married in October of the same year. She was famously known as Cantinflas’ wife. They adopted their only child, Mario Moreno Ivanova.
They were married for 30 years after which Valentina died.
Cantinflas wife, Valentina Ivanova Subarev died of bone cancer in 1966 at the age of 51. She was diagnosed with cancer and was rushed to Houston for treatment with a U.S plane that was sent by President Lyndon Johnson. Even after a series of treatments, she couldn’t survive it because the cancer was too strong. She died later that year.
Cantinflas’ wife died because she was diagnosed with bone cancer. She was treated in Houston but she didn’t survive it.
